OpenClaw
Open-source personal assistant that runs on your own devices, reaches you through the messaging channels you already use, and can take desktop control.
A personal AI assistant developed in the open by a non-profit foundation. It runs a local gateway connecting models, tools and messaging channels — WhatsApp, Slack, iMessage and a long list of others — and can drive the desktop through its computer use mode. Runs on macOS, Linux, Windows via WSL2, and Docker.
Best for
People who want a persistent assistant on their own hardware, reachable from the apps they already have open.
Watch out
Its own documentation is blunt about the risk: tools run on the host for the main session unless you configure sandboxing. Read that setting before you point it at anything sensitive.
